ASUS Travel Cover - Protective cover for tablet - thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) - dark gray - for Nexus 7

This is a great cover for a Nexus 7 tablet but it does have issues. First, it is a single piece of flexible plastic/rubber that wraps around the body of the Nexus with a flap covering the display. It will protect against small bumps but it is not armor, a sharp blow or a fall from high up could cause damage. There is no latch on the cover and the hinge is simply a thinner part of the body to give it more flexibility. The cover will not fold flat against the back so it may be a little cumbersome to use on the go. But the case adds very little bulk so it will fit in large pockets and purses with little problem. For the price this cover does a great job in protecting a Nexus 7 but if you are going to use it in a more dangerous environment there are better cases.

Though it is not specified in the description, this product is only made for 1st gen Nexus. If you have a 2nd generation Nexus 7 it will not fit it properly or have the correct openings for ports.

In the past, I purchased 4 Nexus 7s (original models) for myself and grandkids. I also bought Ausu covers for them. Those covers fit the original products well. I recently bought 3 of the newer models for Xmas presents (good price at Walmart). So I also purchased 3 covers for the newer N7s. Unlike the original covers, these fit very poorly. The width is about 1/8" too wide so the edges that are intended to wrap around the tablet, don't quite do it. These covers came in boxes that indicated that they were Asus products. I guess they just dropped the ball on this one. I returned all three covers for a refund. If anyone finds a good cover, please let the rest of us know.
