AT&T CL4940 Standard Phone - White

The AT&T CL4940 telephone/answering machine is perfect for our needs. It was very easy to install and set up. The user manual is well written with easy to follow instructions. So far, the phone has functioned flawlessly. The large display and key pad make this phone very user friendly, especially for us "Seasoned Citizens". We have only had the phone for two weeks so I cannot speak to its longevity.

I always have a landline in my kitchen, and this phone was a great choice when my other "Caller ID phone" died. I also chose this phone model because it came with an answering machine, which I had not had in many years (I only had voicemail on my cell phone which I seldom use). It was very easy to set up for use, and the instruction booklet was quite helpful. I love the large number buttons, and the Caller ID display is very easy to read as well........An excellent phone for us older citizens !!!........The speakerphone is another nice feature, and the white color was also a perfect match for my kitchen, with its white countertops and cabinets.........Honolulu, HI 1/22/17

Before getting this fone I was going to order a hearing impaired fone @ a cost of $229.oo to meet the features I needed. I'm pleased to say W/ equalizer, audio assist & volume control I'm able to hear and be heard through the speaker with ease, even from across room with great clarity. All of the other features R a bonus.

Bought for my mom who getting on in years needs a liitle help with hearing and seeing. While thi sphone is not really meant for those with serious impairment this phone for the price does what it advertises for those just starting down that path. Flashes when incoiming call, adjustable volume control- simply to use answer machine. Buttons big and easy to use. Instructions simply to understand and apply. Good value/product for the price- feels the need right now!

I had had a cell phone. This is my first land line in a long time. The idea was to have not only a secure connection but also one that I could use for emergency power failures to reach my company if necessary. There has not yet been a power failure so I am not sure how this will work then. However, I am well able to hear conversations on the phone. The answering machine appears to work well, although I have not had it used yet by a caller when I was not home. The orange display is indeed hard to read, unless one picks up the entire phone and reads it at a 90 degree angle (or if sitting, I stand up to read the display). I have had no difficulty dialing the numbers. The phone number I dial is displayed (if I read it at a 90 degree angle). It is a basic phone and so far I am happy with it.
