Auto Drive 93342w - Nylon License Plate Fasteners-Black

The plastic plate fasteners in black color came in perfectly. They are super easy to install. I waited to write this review until they were proven in the highway. They are very sturdy, on a basis of 60-70 mpAt basic speed of 60-70 mph, they really do great and will never damage your plate because of the plastic material. For privacy of my plates I only took photos of the fasteners.

These are great. They look like regular phillips head screws but are made out of nylon. I had no trouble at all screwing the nut on the other side and the black color blends well. I don't know how easy they will be to remove, but know they can't rust and get stuck like metal screws might. And, being nylon, I don't think severe weather changes will affect them. I'm very pleased.

I tried these fasteners on the license plates two different vehicles.I first tried them on a 2013 Chevy Camaro . I then tried them on a 1999 Honda prelude. Both had frames on their license plates. The fasteners did not work with either one of the cars. These fasteners have fine machined threads and both vehicles I tried them on needed fasteners with corse threads. I know these fasteners would work just fine on license plates that had a thin frame that you could reach the back of. These fasteners would work just fine on a motorcycle or trailer with a thin frame for mounting. The fastener could then use the nut that was provided in the package.The nut and fastener are both made from plastic which would be helpful if the vehicle was stored where it would receive inclement weather. Because you get 4 fasteners in the package you could use all 4 on one vehicle or spred them out between 2 vehicles .The fasteners and nuts are black in color and will blend in with a dark license plate or frame or stand out and show off a lighter color frame or license plate. I would have liked to have kept them on my cars if they would have worked out.

I have to report that out of the 3 vehicles in my driveway these did not work. I have no problem with the quality of the screws its just that they were too narrow to seat in any of the frames I have. Did not work on a ford, a Hyundai, or a dodge. I would suggest taking a current screw with you when you shop for small parts like this. It's almost impossible to get it right by assumption only! They are a plastic screw but seem like they would hold up just fine, no complaints other than fit didnt work out. I like that they were black as well, as so are the other screws I was trying to match. I guess I will have to try again though as I still have one particular plate that is driving around with one screw. Would think it would be universal... but it is not.

I replaced my license plate screws with Auto Drive nylon. They went in the holes well enough, the real test will come this summer. I live in an area that gets very hot if your car sits outside it will ruin your paint. Otherwise I think it's a good product and will hold up.
