The cooker works very well with a couple of drawbacks. One is that it does not have an automatic shutoff, which is annoying. If you are not standing next to it, you cannot hear the alarm that the eggs are done, and you must manually turn off the cooker. Also, it would be handier if there was a knob at the top to remove the cover.

Purchased this egg cooker years ago as it was highest-rated by Consumer Reports magazine. It's also only one recommended by America's Test Kitchen. Used it weekly ever since and still works flawlessly. Makes from 1 to 7 perfect hard or soft-boiled eggs and up to 4 perfectly poached eggs in minutes. Just add water using provided measuring device, press the on switch, and wait for the significantly loud buzzer to tell you the eggs are done. Easy and convenient! Bought this one because I'm staying at my mother's home in Florida as her caregiver and miss not having my egg cooker. It's exactly the same as mine (can't improve on perfection) and works just as flawlessly!

The cooker works as expected. However it is very annoying that when eggs are cooked in turns on loud buzzer to make you come and turn it off. If it already detects the time to be turned off why cannot it turn of itself? Why does it require a user to turn it off manually? Also I am a little worried as to what will happen if nobody turns it off.

VERY HAPPY !!!FIRST TIME USED POACHED EGGS DID NOT STICK TO BECAUSE OF THE NON-STICK( WHITE & YOLK OF THE EGGS WERE JUST RIGHT AND VERY EASY TO CLEAN) I DID YOU A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF NON-STICK SPRAY "I JUST RECENT PURCHASED ANOTHER BRAND BUT POACH EGG COOKER WAS PLASTIC NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED EGGS STICKED AND THE WHITES WERE WATERY"

I didn't even know this product existed until I was visiting my cousin. I was complaining about peeling hard eggs was such a "Pain". She showed me her egg cooker and told me the eggs peel easily and she loves the convenience. I ordered one from WalMart and I just love it. It makes great poached eggs. My cousin has had her egg cooker for almost 15 years so it has real lasting power. It's an absolutely GREAT product.
