Philips AVENT Basic Baby Monitor with DECT Technology (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

This is wonderful for anyone caring for a disabled teen or adult. Mom can talk to us from her bedroom. We can push the 'talk' button on the parent unit in the kitchen and talk back to her to tell her we are coming or get clarification of what she needs.

I wish I could find out if I could add another baby unit to this parent unit. I don't want to keep moving the baby unit to different rooms. We are using this to help monitor my mother who is having health problems.

We purchased this monitor for its advertised sound quality and the reduction in static noise. It has lived up to our expectations. It has great sensitivity adjustment and there is practically no background/static noise. The two-way feature is handy and the size and weight of the parent unit make it easy to carry throughout the house (clipped to your belt or in a shirt pocket).

Great monitor. We bought one about a year ago for our 3yr olds room and just purchased the second one for our baby. We had several other brands that would crackle and pop and wake me all night long (more so than the baby). We would also hear our neighbor talking to her baby through our monitor with the old brand. This one has never given us any problems. Well worth the money.

I care for my elderly mother in my home. The Philips AVENT basic baby monitor has eased my anxiety of not hearing my mother when she needed me. Between hearing her call my name in the middle of the night and having the sensor lights flash on and off, I wake up and am at my mother's side within a minute or two. It makes my mother feel more secure also. There is also a "page" button on the monitor so if for some reason I don't wake up right away, my mom can press it and it buzzes really loud. I put a small bright colored sticker on the button so my mom could remember that she can press that if I don't hear her calling. But, so far, she hasn't had to use it.
