The shield itself is great. The problem is the fastening screws. They aren't long enough for one, also the inserts that hold the screw aren't either, just not long enough to accommodate the thickness of hood, shield and rubber protector. Only half of the 6 actually tightened down no matter how gently I tried to secure them. Several of factory clips broke as I had to remove all to get shield in place properly and get to seall well enough.
The AVS bug shield is a nice looking, good quality accessory. It was, however, a little more difficult to install than described. Once you remove the under-hood weatherstrip and install the bug shield, the OEM plastic weatherstrip pins are not long enough to reinstall the weatherstrip over the bug shield so I had to buy longer clips. Then the mounting holes in the bug shield did not align with the OEM holes on the underside of the hood so new holes had to be drilled. Finally, just throw away the included BS plastic screws and go buy stainless steel ones at a hardware store to hold your bug shield to your hood. Not the easy installation as advertised and took longer (and extra $$) to do it right but once installed (correctly) it looks great and functions well.
Bought this for a new Chevy Colorado and it looks fantastic. I love the low profile, it does not flap or move at all. Only gig I have is that you "do" need a drill to install the "self tapping" screws, despite what the description claims. No biggie tho.
I have a 2012 Chevy and this bug visor dosen't cover half of the part of the hood where it bends down. It offers no protection from bugs and does not look good at all. It looks good on my 2005 chevy, but for my 2012, i threw it away and bought a lund that covers the front of the hood very well. 1/10
Made this purchse for my 2012 Chevy Colorado. Great product and customer support. Had problems with the carrier (UPS) broke two of the shields. Spoke to customer support and told them that maybe UPS had something against them. Last one shipped by FED EX. The bow wasn't even dented. Shipping speaks volumes!
