There is really only one manufacturer, PTS Diagnostics, of this A1C kit. It goes under various names and keeps raising its prices. When this was manufactured under the Relion name, at least you could rely on Walmart to help you out when one of the units was defective. I made the mistake of buying a PTS 10-test set from a dealer named Health Check and it promised beforehand to put pressure on PTS to replace any units if they did not work. When two units malfunctioned, Heatlh Check tried to get them replaced, but were not successful. The PTS customer service representative told me directly that the company would not replace the units because I had not called them beforehand and spoken to them on the phone while I performed the operations. I told her that I had been using their units for years without difficulty before and was used to their operations, but she just rudely “blew me off”. In summary, PTS does not stand behind any of its defective kits. Caveat emptor.
