i used it as a front camera on my pickup. i no longer needed a rear camera as both of my vehicles have a factory camera. The camera worked ok for the front, but the image is reversed and no adjustment is available to correct it. Shortly after the end of the 1 year warranty, I started to get an occasional black screen. Eventually I attempted to fix the problem by deleting the camera from the garmin, and reinstalling the camera. Did not fix the problem. I verified power was not the issue. As I have the factory navigation and Android Auto I decided to remove the inoperative camera and the Garmin navigation unit.
For me this is a good way to add a back-up camera to my older truck. Works well for hitching up the trailer. The picture is no where near the quality of a current vehicle, but installation is a whole lot easier than replacing the truck!
It is a pretty good product, but if your vehicle is a larger vehicle, you will need to buy the extension cable. The transmitter has to be fairly close to the receiver.
my camera stopped working after two weeks, garmin wont replace the unit, they say the don't make this unit anymore. very dissapointed with garmin, they mostly have good products.
Works well and is fairly easy to install. A couple of things to note -- The distance from the camera to the T-connection is not that long so for certain applications you may need to buy an extension cable to make the connections work. The transmitter needs to stay at least 8" away from humans/animals. There is about a 3 second lag time from shifting into reverse until the camera comes on. But, overall satisfied and would buy again.
