After opening the taped carton, I relized this box has been opened before. I started removing the contents out of the box, found the fire bowl severely dented and and missing paint. This was a returned damaged item and yet they taped it back up then it got sent to me. I bought another one at a different store, not Walmart.
Bought this as a gift for my husband, he loved it. Really easy to put together, great size too if you dont have a lot of space. Can't wait to use it more.
This is an attractive fire pit. It is just right for our little patio. The screen keeps ashes and embers from coming out and burning us. The poker is a little short, though. This works great for us all in all.
I was able to set this up in less than 1/2 hour. It's not very heavy, but does the job. I've always wanted a fire pit in our backyard, but thought trying one that was on the less expensive side would be a good way to test it out and see if it was something we'd use. I've built a fire in it 3 times since I purchased it, and it's done the job as expected. Cleanup afterwards is fairly simple. I usually douse the coals with some water, and do the cleanup the next day.
Your neighbors aren't going to sneak into your backyard to marvel over it's appearance, build quality or capacity, but all in all, it seems to be a practical, nice, inexpensive pit. Would have liked to see a longer handle to remove the grate and move burning wood around, but it's not a big deal. Would also be nice to have a cover included, but for the price, I don't think that's reasonable to expect. I spent $13 to get a standard one that works great, and could be re-used with future pits. I don't expect it to last more than 2-3 years, so if it does that and more, icing on the cake. Overall, for the price, I would recommend it.
