To begin, I was extremely disappointed when this item was delivered to my home in a box that was falling apart and the parts were protruding from the box and falling out. Little did I know my experience of purchasing this item would get much worse. Upon opening the box, I reviewed the provided instructions and inspected the parts. It was immediately apparent that this product was designed very poorly, shipped very poorly, and the parts are not of quality and extremely difficult to put together. Making matters worse, the instructions provided were absolutely useless. Unfortunately, assembly of this product for the average person was impossible (the instructions say it requires 8 adults to lift the fully assembled roof onto the four posts), so we had no choice but to hire a handyman service. The cheapest handyman service I could find in my area charged me $200 MORE than the cost of the item itself and they still have not been able to get the gazebo assembled due to its terrible design and cheaply made parts. Perhaps worse of all, this item and its parts have began rusting within a matter of days of being erected on my concrete patio and are now permanently staining my concrete and outdoor furniture with red rust stains. We have tried to clean the stains and it is impossible. Our outdoor furniture is ruined now and our concrete patio will cost thousands of dollars to replace. Due to the item now costing me -WELL- over $1000.00, I feel I should be refunded for what I paid for this item. However, Walmart did not care one bit about the costly nightmare this item has caused me and told me they will only honor a refund if I can dismantle what has been already partially assembled by our handyman service and bring all the parts in their original box to a Walmart store. The item was 250 pounds, shipped freight delivery in a destroyed box on a palette so obviously I have no way to bring this item back to a store myself... My bank will also not allow me to file a dispute on the charge for this item and say it is on Walmart to refund me or I will need to sue them in small claims court. I feel Walmart is intentionally selling a faulty item that they know their customers will not be able to put together, that will rust and ruin their home, and then they will have no way of “returning” it so that Walmart keep the money. What a scam! SHAME on Walmart!!! You've lost a customer.
Best part of this gazebo is the metal roof, the netting is very thin but keeps the mosquitoes out. I like that the netting has a zipper on each side. Instructions say to assemble the whole roof then lift it on to the legs, No that won't work. I took all the roof panels off and only left the center peak panels on, then it was much easier to add 2 legs on one end and then prop it up with a latter and add the other 2 legs, then put the roof panels on. At first i added a hanging light then i decided to take it off and I added a hanging ceiling fan with LED light I bought from Lowes. It worked out great.
I wanted to love it. The price was good compared to other similar hard top gazebo/pergolas. Nothing lined up well on the roof. The directions were terrible. It took a couple hours to build and a couple trips to the hardware store. We checked, double and triple checked to make sure we didn’t get the pieces the wrong way or something not square but the roof was a nightmare. Remedied with self tapping screws. We should of returned but the nightmare of trying to return it was just to big of a pain. We have it up now but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Awful instructions, almost every piece was bent up including the steel posts! Almost every roof panel was flawed. Called Walmart for a partial refund and the manufacturer to send out replacement parts.
Assembly is definitely a 2-man plus job—even though I had no plans to use the netting it was the reason I gave a 4 rating (not very good quality netting)—purchased sun screen panels for the sides as shown in picture. The gazebo itself without the screen seems to be very sturdy and time will tell the benefits of going to a hard shell cover because I’ve been buying regular soft cover gazebos every time a replacement was needed—wanted something more durable that I can use for years instead a year or 2 at a time.
