BioLite - Alpenglow 250 Lantern

I've been camping out on my couch as my bedroom is under construction. I use this handy light instead of the ceiling lamp. Candle effect is my favorite before sleeping but I've also used during family gatherings with the colored lights and looks fun and enjoyable. Even when dark the bright light is amazing along with the dim. So glad it is rechargeable as well.

I bought this to replace the biolight powerlight mini that we've had for several years and which we loved! It was small, portable, and light weight and provided lots of light - great for traveling and backpacking. Biolite recommended that I replace it with the AlpenGlow 250 - which is much larger, bulkier, and has unnecessary frills like changing light colours. While my kids love the changing light colours, it is a very disappointing replacement - we'll take this car camping but it's too big to take traveling/backpacking and it doesn't serve the same multiple functions as the mini light which you could clip onto your pocket, bike, or backpack etc. I'd rather have one small light that I can use for everything vs a larger light that I'll only use for car camping.

This is such a fun and useful little light. I bought it for camping, but I keep finding new ways to use it around the house. And it's surprisingly bright for the size!

This is a bright light with an easy button to dim it! I love how portable it is with the nice hook for hanging. The colors are so much fun, fascinated the kids while camping. This items seems pricey but I like the company and was willing to give it a shot and so glad I did...it is so worth it!

I wouldn't have paid the amount that these cost, for how bright - or rather, for how dim they are. They work and are clearly well constructed. But if you're looking for something to light up a bedroom, maybe consider the larger size.
