Had our doubts about this Realistic Owl Decoy. But once we finally got it set up in our yard, all those pigeons that were landing on our neighbors house are no longer there. They started to continue flying towards our house %26 pool . . but once they saw that Owl flying in the breeze, they started flying away from our property. Now they are completely gone and no longer a bother.

We live on our sailboar and are annoyed with birds landing on our boat and using it as their outdoor facility. So we purchase one of these and hoist it up the back stay and it keeps all the birds away...our neighboring boats love it as well. We use in combination with predator bird call. No more birds bothering out boat.

When I opened the box, I noticed that the peg on the top of the owl's head was broken. The grommet on the wing assembly is supposed to slide over this peg. Instead of sending the owl back, I just put a small screw into the head in place of the peg. I also wonder how long before the rain washes the paint off from the bird. If it will last a couple of years I will be satisfied with my purchase. It does keep the birds away as advertised.

I was skeptical to try this owl, as those rigid non moving owls do not work very well. This one not only kept the birds away (all with exception to Blue Jays - those dang things), it also freaked out the dogs for a few days too. The only drawback is that sufficient wind will lift the owl from the pole mount & give it freedom. Mine flew to the yard where the dogs promptly killed it. I've ordered another - this one I will modify to prevent that from happening again. Definitely a good buy.

The flapping wings are what makes this item standout. I located it in a place where there is always a breeze. Not a bird in sight. The grackels had become quite a problem around my cherry tree. I thought it was a little over priced but since it does work, I don't feel so bad.
