All the negative reviews! I have to wonder if anyone read the instructions? I have been using Bona floor products going on 10 years on the same floors and I have to say, that the one or two times I have hurried through, I have gotten some milky streaking and it was all my fault. You have to clean your floors with the Bona cleaner and let them dry thoroughly. Once dry, working small sections you apply the Bona Polish going with the grain of the wood (when possible) you have to work quickly and try to get an even coating. You can not let anyone walk on the floors for at least an hour afterward, longer if it is humid - overnight is best. As long as I do this, each and every time I have substantially shinier floors and my floors have the finish worn away in some places. They do not look like new but they look 100 times better after I polish with Bona. With 2 dogs, there's really no reason to refinish my floors right now. This is a great compromise! As long as you read the directions and take your time, your floors will turn out great.
I tried this for the first time about a month ago. Even at the very beginning I thought it looked filmy and it still does. Now I'm wondering how I can get this removed from my what was, beautiful wood floor. If Bona has a solution, please advise.
I have never reviewed a product before, but I feel I must add mine here. After using the Bona cleaner for about three months, I thought the polish would add a layer of protection to our brand new hardwood floors. It did just the opposite - the floor is now dull, milky and shows every footprint, although I followed the instructions carefully. I will never use Bona products again, although I guess I will have to buy the polish remover and attempt to get this stuff off of my once beautiful floors. I wish I had read reviews before I used this product.
I have light colored oak (no stain) that was finished with Bona water based poly products last year. I wanted to freshen up the floor. I went with Bona because I knew my floor contractor refinished the floors last year with a Bona product. They came out great. All the reviews that were negative scared me- but I think it works for me because I have a known Bona finish and my floor is light in color with a satin finish (not gloss to start with). Here are some photos (one with sunlight, one without)
I used this stuff on my bamboo floors and like others have said, it leaves a white/milky layer. It took me several days of hands and knees scrubbing my floors to get this off. Frankly, it ruined my floors. They do not look the same and look MUCH worse than before I tried this stuff. I would NEVER suggest you use this stuff!
