We were "over run" by chipmunks. They were finding their way into the basement. Over just a few days they packed walnuts into to pockets of our pool table. I bought this product, sprinkled it pretty heavily around the house and have to say they have fled the area. It has rained several times since (about a month) and they are still gone. Time will tell but will use it again if they come back.
My only concern about this product is using it too closely to my vegetable garden. A warning on the label states a distance to maintain from produce. But regardless, I seem to be keeping the critters at bay which is the intention, and so far it does not need reapplication following rain. Overall, it seems to work.
This summer, I decided to keep my bird feeders filled, and the seed attracted not only the birds, but many chipmunks. The chipmunks started to burrow under the foundation of my cellar entrance until there was almost no dirt under the foundation! After using a smoke bomb to get the chipmunks out, I sealed the tunnels with concrete and sprinkled Repels-All around the cellar entrance. Now I have no more chipmunks around my house, although I do see them in the yard, which is fine.
I spinkled this in the areas where the critters browse in my gardens. My doggies love garlic, which is a big part of the ingredients, so I had to explain to them that this was not an invitation to the gardens =} In one of the gardens the product worked like a charm and the ground sqirrels and chipmunks stopped eating my Chicks and Hens. I have a planter that one baby squirrel actually ate more of than before. This did nothing for the deer at all. I am still rating it with 5 stars because I've tried similar products with similar results, so it is not the fault of the product. Living in the mountains brings with it the drawback of feeding the critters some of what you plant!
The big test will come soon. Every year, squirrels dig up my mini hosta plants to bury the hickory nuts and acorns they find on my property. This has cost me plenty, if I don't find them and replant soon enough - the plants don't survive. I plan on using around the mini beds to see if this stops squirrel/chipmunk digging. I'll let you know after I've tested it.
