Bose Noise-masking Sleepbuds (1st Generation)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these as an early Christmas gift for myself. I cannot sleep without them now. My partner snores , and when I sleep alone , I always have trouble switching off to sleep. These are great in masking his snoring. When I sleep alone, these distract my mind and help me to sleep. They took about a week to get used to. I almost returned them as I thought they weren't worth the money. I persevered with them , and in a couple of days , I was sleeping like a baby! I just listen to the sounds and next thing I know, it's morning! I've read lots of bad reviews , saying they are not good because they don't play your music. Well , that's not what they're for. I think they're worth every penny.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My husband bought me a pair for Christmas after I told him about them and I am beyond thrilled! They effectively tune out everything around me, including his extremely loud snoring! I like that there are more sounds being loaded into the sound library for uploading even though I am likely to stick with one and never stray. The only “con” so far is that I find it hard to want to wake up in the morning. I am having deep restful sleeps and just don't want to leave my peaceful place! I have recommended them to all my friends and anyone with a snoring partner is asking for the link to buy them!

Having a partner who snores (loud!) at night, I was very keen to get these earbuds and per-ordered them. So I've had them roughly six months or so now. They are a good idea, but fail somewhat in the execution. Pros; > very comfortable, you hardly notice you have them on > light weight > the charging case is wonderful - lovely design and feel Cons; > "noise masking" is not noise cancelling! The louder my wife snores, the louder the sound has to be on the earbuds to override her. Because there is no volume control right on the earbuds, that means finding your phone, opening it up, opening the app, and then adjusting the volume. Now I'm wide awake. > very limited selection of sleep sounds and no ability to customize/mix them > these are the least reliable Bose product I have owned. I regularly have to try multiple times to get the app and the earbuds to sync > when you lie on your side, if there's enough pressure on the earbuds it seems to squeeze the sound port shut, and you lose sound on that side. I previously had been using the Bose QC20 wired earbuds with noise cancelling. The noise cancelling feature is MUCH more effective at blocking out sounds than the noise masking efforts of the earbuds, however the QC20 earbuds are not designed to be slept on, so they are much less comfortable and sleeping with wires is a nuisance. Don't get me wrong, the Bose earbuds are the best solution to a snoring bed partner that I've come up with yet, and I would have no qualms about the cost if they were more reliable and more effective.

While sharp and sudden noises still get through a bit the effect of the system isn't just noise canceling, it's setting up a restful environment that actually helps me fall asleep much faster and stay asleep longer Love that Bose has just added more theme to choose from

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a high quality product from Bose. Opening the package, 'premium' is the order of the day. The charging case provides another 16 hours of charge and can be charged via a micro USB, which was odd as I thought it would be the Type-C connection. It is extremely easy to place the Sleepbuds in both ears. Charging the Sleepbuds is a doddle - just simply place them back into the case - they both slip in perfectly via a magnet and the case will illuminate, displaying the charging levels on both sides of the case. Using these Sleepbuds are very comfortable to use for long periods and you don't even notice them on. To make the Sleepbuds useful, you will need to connect them to the sleep app, which is very easy to use, and have 10 sounds to choose from 'Altitude' to 'Swell' - all have varying degrees of relaxing sounds. You can adjust the loudness of the sounds; however, you will need to strike a balance of noise versus how loud you want it without the sound keeping you awake. (of course defeats the purpose of the Sleepbuds in the first place!) Overall, these won't fix sleep deprivation and my understanding is that Bose is going to do further research into this product. It is important to note that Sleepbuds can't guarantee a good night's sleep. Sleepbuds, do help you become more relaxed - but the question is - do they work? Well, that is impossible to say because of this due to individual sleeping patterns. In conclusion, this product is of a high quality, extremely comfortable to wear but with a price tag to match.
