I have just purchased this to add my B&W speakers to my house setup. I already have SoundTouch 10, 20, and 30 units which all come with a remote control. This unit does not and this is very disappointing. This spoils the total package which has cost me a lot of money. I even have the wireless QC35 II headphones. Not what you expect from a premium Bose product, very happy with the other units.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I loved the idea of this device with my Bose 151 outdoor speakers - However - 1. App is less than perfect - I don't even think I could feel comfortable giving the app a 3/5 - so I don't use it and try to push straight to speaker through Spotify (only use app to update, and power off the SA-5) 2. You'd be better with a standard receiver with 'Works with Alexa, Works with Chromecase, Works with Airplay' built in - or using a Google Chromecast Audio - Better/easier than the SA-5 with the app noted above 3. In just over a year, my right speaker output started sounding tinny/static/etc - In troubleshooting, it's not the speaker, but the SA-5 - to which Bose has not been helpful in rectifying (note - i did try 3-4 different speakers - including Bose, Pioneer, Polk - all had similar tin sound out of right channel) I tried the speaker outside with a different receiver and it's just find.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased from AudioHUB Subiaco Perth Western Australia, Set up with a pair of Bose 151 outdoor speakers, what can I say Superb sound, easy to set up and looks pretty flash, does exactly what it says on the tin...great product..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Soundtouch 20 and SoundTouch SA-5 amp 5 days ago. Please ignore my previous negative review as I have sorted out my initial setup issues. The Soundtouch 20 Installed easily onto my home Wi-Fi network and worked a treat with AWESOME sound quality. I had installation issues with the SA-5 as I installed it on a different Wi-Fi network without realizing and once that was resolved It works a treat. The Mobile app lets me control the volume levels between the Soundtouch and SA-5. Wish there was a further control to be able to control the volume levels between the A & B speakers on the SoundTouch SA-5 amp. The sound quality is amazing from the Sound Touch 20 and my 25 year old all weather Bose outdoor speakers still produce a great sound after all this time.
I purchased This AMP and the Soundtouch20 device last week. The Setup for the device is clunky to say the least and The AMP is constantly losing its settings and will not connect directly via usb for setup function. The Soundtouch APP is rubbish, Selecting a local for internet radio stations extremely frustrating as it appears to list every suburb in Australia (some of them would not even have internet) Response time on the APP is pitiful and unable to use the free Spotify app to play music. The Amp lacks a feature to adjust stereo L/R Balance and no fade or selection function to control A & B speakers. Overall an overpriced piece of Junk
