In my area, although Winter doesn't bring heavy snow, it does occasionally. The OEM tires were clearly not able to handle even the slightest amount of snow. We have seen some 60 degree days and some -5 degree days, these tires perform very well in those temperature ranges, even though you should be looking at 45F-47F maximum. Tires are still at 11/32. I do not fear freezing rain and snow when I drive because these tires give me absolute control on the road. If there is a slick spot you will have issues braking, but you will also still be in complete control of the car- so you can still steer which is a big plus. Light snow handling is everything I could have asked for. I am not sure if I would buy theseagain, only because we don't get too much snow in my area. If the next all seasons can't handle the snow, I will definitely buy the LM series of tires that's available for my car.

I have this tire for only 600 miles. However, I live in Colorado, so we getdifferent weather now in November. When I installed this tire temperature was in 60's. There is no doubt this tire is made for strictly winter conditions. It is soft on dry, steering response is much worse then with all-season tires, not to mention Michelin PSS I put in garage until spring. However, last few days winter showed its teeth, and temperature dropped to 8 degrees. Before that it rained, so everything turned into ice, then two inches of snow. There was no enough snow to give any opinion about traction on deep snow, but on ice they really surprised me positively. I lived in Europe before moving to the U.S. and drove there various winter tires, but these are probably best on the ice I had so far. When temperature drops below 45, they are much better on dry. I think they are very good investment if you will drive on snow, ice, mountains etc. However, keep an eye on rearview mirror, because probably person behind you is driving on all-season tires, and will not stop on slick road like you with these tires.

This is the first set of winter tires I have ever bought for a car in40 plus years of driving year-round in NW PA. We have always used all season tires year round. What have we missed!!!We put this tire on the car and went onto solid ice and simply drove away. The tire held highway speeds on roads that I should have only been going half that fast - the benefit of hindsight! We get significant lake effect snowfalls and this tire coupled with the Xdrive makes the car more stable and predictable than any SUV we have ever owned. The treadwear is very reasonable considering the amount of dry surface driving we do. Road noise and ride comfort are on par with the Michelin Pilot AS we run on the car in the summer.I will buy these - or the updated replacements - when we need a new set on the replacement car(s)

Tampa, Florida to Moose, Wyoming and back. That is what qualifies me to say that these tires are nothing short of AMAZING. I left Dec 10th 2012for a 1 Month trek to Vail, CO. Last year was the year of Winter storm Drako, which hit part of Missouri and Kansas very hard. Ice storm, followed by a horrid snowstorm and although driving a Range Rover with all-wheel drive, these tireswere nothing short of spectacular in traction and grip. The sidewalls are a little soft when cornering hard, so you do have tone cautious, but these tires aretruly spectacular. After reaching my destination and enjoying Vail, CO,I then decided to take an extra week and make the trek to Grand Teton National Park (in Wyoming). Cutting through the mountains on roads that are not maintained in the winter time, I experienced some driving conditions that no one should have to experience in their lifetime. These tires were amazing on ice, as I climbed some roads that were nothing but sheer ice. If you're in an area where you get a lot of various conditions - ice, sleet and snow, rest assured that these will not disappoint.

I'm going into my second season on this set of winter tires and haveabsolutely zero complaints with them. I put Blizzak winter tires on all of my vehicles and can honestly say you get what you pay for. They handle snow, ice, and even the long spells of dry tarmac driving between snow storms without tire wear or ungastly road noise. < br>< br>If you fret winter driving in any way or justwant more control this should be the first and only purchase you make to protect your family and your auto investment. Period.
