I would be skeptical of all the bad reviews for this tire. A low profile, performance tire can't do everything well, especially if it is designed to deal with real world driving conditions like the terrible, pothole filled roads we have here in eastern Massachusets. I have three out of the four original tires on this car with over 60K on them and I would guess there is about another 10Kof life left.< br>< br> Last March I hit a pothole at night that bent and cracked both right side rims. The front tire went down immediately and the rear lost air when I jacked up the car to replace the front tire. I made the wrong decision to drive the remaining two miles home on the flat tire. Afterwards I was told the tire would have been fine if had not driven on it. These tires are TOUGH! I have hit many potholes with these tires that other tires would not have survived. I was told that the rubber is very thick for just that reason. < br>< br>< br>< br>Traction in snow was excellent the first year when the tread was deep. Naturally it wasn't so great this winter when I had 50K plus on them. They aren't the stickiest in dry conditions but what would you expect from a tire that is designedto cover all weather conditions?< br>< br>< br>< br> I did not take particularly good care of these tires either. In 60k plus miles I have rotated them three times. I still haven't seen any sign of cupping or feather edging. The only thing Idon't like about these tires is the price. But, after reading reviews on other tires it is apparent you get what you pay for. I am not sure what I will do the next round. I would like to get separate summer/winter sets but I am concerned that lingering potholes would take out summer performance tires.
These OEM tires lasted 42k miles on my WRX with a combination of road trips across the US, two winters in Minnesota, and plenty of fun twisty roads in CA. They may not be spectacular in any one aspect but they performed admirably inall conditions and, wow, 42k miles is a lot more than I thought I would get outof them considering the punishment. In comparison my Falken Ziex 912's I put onthe car after these already need to be replaced at 20k miles and they are not significantly better in the dry and not nearly better in the wet. I guess you do pay more for quality.
These are the orginal tires on my wife's subaru baja. They have 137,000 mi on them as i write this. Yes, 137,000 mi. I've never heard of a car getting so many milies out of a set of tires. We will have to get tires before winter. The tires still haven't hit the wear bars but the outside and inside are starting to show some wear. I only reason we would not buy theae are because of price. I don't think we would keep the car past 200,000 mi. If you want a tire thatlasts buy these.....
I don't really understand why this tire has really low reviews. I'vebeen warned about this tire from another GT owner, and I'm still waiting for itto let me down. So far, this tire has been very impressive. Yes, 19,000 miles means it isn't exactly at it's mid life yet, but so far I'd say it's great. Thisis a much better running tire than my old Continental Extreme Contact tires. This tire offers a MUCH quieter/smoother ride and same contact to the Continental's, at 19,000. My wife drove our car last winter through a fresh 13 inches of snow and proceeded with absolutely no problem, considering the front end of the carbecame a snow plow. What snow tires? I would be interested in buying these again.
tiis tire came as original equipment on my 2002 nissan maxima, they now have 49,000 miles on them with about 1/4 inch tread left on them,All the driving has been in florida, with an occasional trip out of state. I will probably have to replace them soon. I would not hesitate to get them again
