Barely drove 24k and it's time for a new set of tires. Something about the tread pattern makes the tires feel like they are running in a track...or constantly looking for one. The alignment is perfect and the car still wants to wander instead of hold straight. Do not recommend this tire.
Very Great Tires. Would buy them again! Have not been able to get them to lose traction
As you know the OEM tires for this car were the Michelin Primacy HP summer tires. They were good. I am not a drifter. I want to stick and drive in fast and deep into the nasty curves in Western NC. After 30K miles it was time to change tires. The S-04 Potenza tires have brought this car to another level. The turn in is spot on and very predictable. Even with the VSC off these tires have yet to break loose. After putting these tires on my BRZ it has been like an injection of super thrill . I have about 2000 miles on these tires including the Tail of the Dragon, NC28, and the BRP. These are places I have driven for many years and this combination of car and tire is most excellent. Every road and every curve is a new experience even though I have been there many, many times. At this time I don't care about mileage as much as I want the best handling possible. If I get 40K out of these tires I'll be happy. I am already happy with the improvement in performance because, let's face it wen you buy a BRZ the only thing that matters is performance. Anything else like a smoother and quieter ride is just gravy. I recommend these tires to anyone with a performance car who wants to stick to the road like glue and use every curve as a launching pad for the next one. Okami
These tires were disappointingly worn out after 14,000 miles. I initially got them because of the great reviews, almost as good as the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, yet about $300 less for the set than the Michelins. With the short lifespan, the savings weren't real. This time I got the #1 Michelinsand the expected mileage will turn into savings for the Michelins versus the Bridgestones.Performance-wise, the Potenzas rate about a 9. Actual grip was great, but they would feel a little soft and imprecise around hard turns. Thatwas just a perception, because the actual grip limit was very high.Theywere also smoother-riding and quieter than the Runflats that my BMW came with. So initially it seemed like a win all-around - performance, comfort, quietness, price - until they were at the wear indicators in only a year (14,000 miles).
Had this tire on my speed3 for a few months now and have done highway, city, an autox, and some drag with them and i have to say im really impressed. Grip blows away the stock dunlops. In the autox they did really well, very stable under hard cornering. In the 1/4 mile, hooked in second gear 100%, which for a higher power FWD car is tough. OVer all i think these perform really well.I would recommend them and would consider/purchase them again. Since these are max summer street tires they also ride well around town. Havnt even thought about road noise so that tells it must be pretty good cuz its never stood out to me.
