Briggs & Stratton 2+ Gallon Gas Can

Do not buy this. It breaks easy, it does leak, and it is a pain. Get the original kind that works and keeps odor in and does not leak.

My wife came home with this. On the good side, this gas can is definitely child proof. On the bad side, it's adult proof. The instructions printed on the label are terrible. If you don't have someone show how to do open it, you're out of luck. It should come with an instructional video or an in-store demonstration at least. If all you really need is a gas can, DON'T BUY THIS.

We bought the one gallon can like this at our local Walmart store, and let me tell you, I've never seen anything like it! It was so complicated, and I have a pretty good mechanical sense about me, and I couldn't figure it out! It took my husband 45 minutes just to figure out how to pour it without getting gas all over his hands and pouring it all over the ground. Ridiculous! He is actually on his way back to Wmart now to get a refund. I took pics of this piece of junk and I will also be emailing Briggs and Stratton to complain about it. It could be very dangerous, and if it's supposed to meet some sort of EPA or environmental standards, well, it surpasses the WORST gas can I've ever used in my 40+ years on this earth! In fact, I've never really had a problem with a gas can until this one! When it comes to gas cans, all you need is a can, a simple spout, and a little air hole on the top so it will pour. That's it! The simpler the better (and safer)!

I bought 2 of these. The first would not let gas flow, then a spring fell out. I got a second one to replace it, assuming first was defective. Similar problem, it is very poorly designed, similar to a child-proof aspirin bottle that an adult can't open either. The flow valve is very difficult to work, will not stay open. I am now pitching out the second can, will go somewhere else to get a functional gas can.

I bought this gas can because it was the only one available at both walmart and the home depot. Just setting the can up it is confusing. The gas doesn't come out of the nozzle and you end up getting gas everywhere. Seriously, if you can find a different one somewhere else buy it because this thing wasn't even worth a dollar.
