Worthless. I have bought Brita pitchers in the past and they worked great. These cracked and broke as I tried to set them up as others have stated. They want me to pack them up and mail them back to get a refund-since I live far away from a Wal-mart....Do not buy this. I wasted my money. Also, the one that did work for a little bit before it broke all the way did not clean the water enough-it was still gross and full of chemicals.
Wonderful water, clear and sweet, like from a mountain stream, without the leaves! BUT . . . i got the bigger size and . . . it's really too heavy to move in and out of the fridge, recommend getting the next size down--refilling takes seconds anyway.
Not sure if the pitcher I purchased has a manufacturing defect but when the filter is placed in the socket, it leaves a small 1-2 mm gap on the side. As a result, during the filtration process, some unfiltered water seeps through the gap into the bottom chamber along with filtered water. This defeats the whole purpose of using a filter. My previous Brita pitcher lasted for 5 years and never had this problem. In fact, my previous pitcher used to take 7-10 minutes to filter 1.5 liters of water. This pitcher only takes 1-2 minutes and that's when I thought something is wrong. Looking through the bottom chamber revealed that water is leaking..
I've noticed this has the same issue as other Brita pitchers I've had in the past where the seal along the top isn't great, so you need to be careful not to tip the pitcher too far forward when pouring or you risk having water run out from the seems along the top. On the whole, though, it works for what I need: It's easy to fill in the sink, fits on the top shelf of my fridge without a problem, and a full pitcher will fill up my 10-12 cup coffee maker.
this was my first brittle water filter system and I couldn't believe how much money I saved in the first month not buying bottled water never mind the amount of water bottles I wasn't polluting our Earth with. it has a little indicator on the top that tells you when you should change your filter not all of them have that I was not aware that it had it on there until after I got it I love it
