Incredibly easy machine to learn on and use. Has 2 instruction manuals that pretty much cover everything. The only drawback, You will need a standing spool holder as the tread will wrap around the one in the machine.

This is not my only sewing machine, nor is it my only brother. It is, however, the one that sits out all the time. The ease of using the 1800 is legendary and I appreciate the seven-point feeding system and the presser foot pressure dial. I made my first quilt with the 1800 and even quilted it with the embroidery function. The only things I wish it had are more needle positions and the size of the hoops printed on each hoop.

Amazing machine. Got it from amazon and it works beautifully. I use it for both sewing and embroidery. A good upgrade from the SE400. I like to figure things out on my own and this machine is very user friendly. I didn't need any sewing class. For those with broken needles and jammed thread issues, please be sure that you use the right type needle, stabilizer, and thread for your project. For some weird reason, the included embroidery hoop are very difficult to put on and take off but you can order replacement hoops from Amazon and they works SO MUCH better. Lol. Also, needle don't last forever so regular change will help. Love my machine so much, it comes with many foots I haven't used yet.

Had a Husquvana, could not transfer designs, bad support system all they told me your machine is outdated buy another one. Hubby started looking found my Brother SE 1800. He purchased it very happy with this machine, support is wonderful.

I purchased this as an upgrade from my Brother LB6800. I wanted a larger hoop area. This had not disappointed. Does a great job on even tiny stitch areas. Worth the price!
