i was wondering if someone could tell me where the feed dog drop button is located on LS 2000 thank you in advance
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Fall Sewing Contest. This sewing machine is amazing!! Don't think that because the price is cheap, that the machine is low quality! I have used it for every single outfit I have made, even pillows! Also I have sewed jeans, leather, and pajama shorts as well! It does come with a very helpful instructional DVD, but I watched it after I had already taught myself. What I like about the machine is that it is very simple to use! It is easy to thread (I followed the images at the top of the machine for help), easy to adjust stitches, the zigzag stitches are sharp, easy to wind the bobbins, the reverse button works smoothly, and it is lightweight. I would recommend this to everyone who is a beginner at sewing, but it is also great for advanced sewers! Some things I had trouble with is the thread breaking, (which I found out was mostly because the thread was cheap), The fabric getting stuck underneath the lever inside the machine, the stitches being straight at the top, but the thread is knotted at the bottom (when this happens re-threading the machine and checking the tension always fixes it for me), and feeding the leather through the machine! Overall, I didn't care to much about the complications, because this was my only sewing machine and had to make it work! I have had this machine for 7 years and have never cleaned it until last year, and it still works great, though its a little loud! :)
Because of my recent move, I was faced with a lot of sewing jobs. Un-affordable services of a professional are too costly BUT I'm a NEWBIE to sewing. I bought this machine a month ago. Instructions and demos on the accompanying DVD were so clear, I was sewing the same day ! AWESOME !
I was looking for a simple machine that would be useful for teaching my granddaughters to sew. I didn't want anything too fancy and complicated, and did want something relatively simple to use. This machine came with a DVD showing how to thread and maintain it, and a nice little manual. The older girl, a 'tween, paid rapt attention. The younger one rolled her eyes a lot and twirled her hair while watching the DVD. The older one volunteered to wind the bobbin, and she made a great little stitch sampler. The younger one failed to put the presser foot down, and when I told her to, she floored the foot pedal. The result was quite an interesting stitch sampler and I think she can hit High C. Maybe voice lessons would be better for her. The older one can't wait for the next sewing lesson. I think 10 or 11 is the right age to start sewing lessons. At least our eye rolling diva wasn't driving the car. Be sure to teach them the difference between the presser foot and the foot pedal before they begin. You could save a life. It's a great little machine and I'd buy it again.
Bobbin constantly jammed. I guess I was one of the unlucky ones; I purchased because of the reviews and price. Took it back to the store and I am in search of a new one.
