Brother Project Runway Computerized Sewing Embroidery Machine with Tote, LB6800PRW Mail-In Rebate Available

This is my first sewing machine and I'm teaching myself how to sew. This is the best machine ever! Easy to understand & easy to use! I can't wait to learn more things to do with it!! Great combination of sewing machine and embroidery machine!

My husband purchased this machine for me as a gift, and I've now been using it for about 4 years. I've been very impressed with the consistent embroidery results. Very rarely have I run into threading messes or knotting on the underside of the stitching. I love the touch-screen editing, although I do use StitchBuddy on my Mac for creating monograms, appliqués, embroidery designs -- etc. The touch-screen editing just gives a little more flexibility to resize or slightly move the design once your fabric has been hooped. The only two drawbacks I have found with this machine is that I have outgrown the 4x4" embroidery area -- and I don't find it to be a great machine to do regular sewing on. I just couldn't get a super straight stitch with ease. After some research, I realized that I wasn't the only one that ran into this issue, and I believe the issue has to do with thee feeddogs and/or pressure of the foot. So I just don't use this for major sewing projects, but rather as a detailing machine. And that works perfectly for me because I can just leave it set up as an embroidery machine, and I use the Brother XR1335 for my normal sewing and quilting. I have had so much fun with this machine -- very little frustration (if any?), and I'm rather amazed at how well it has held up with all the use I've given it for the price! If this machine came in a larger hoop size, I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!! I will mention ... I have stretched the size of the embroidery area by buying the 5x7 hoop. I just create two separate designs -- say an appliqué then a monogram or name -- and hoop my garment or item on the 5x7. I run the large design first with thre hoop snapped at its uppermost snap position, then remove hoop from position and resnap it on using the lower snap setting (the larger hoop has 2 or 3 snap settings), and then the 2nd design will sew a little lower on the hoop -- even though my machine is still only sewing within the 4x4 area each time. I hope this makes sense ... I was pleasantly surprised that this worked so well, as the lady at my local machine shop had discouraged me saying that this hoop wouldn't work with my machine ... It most definitely does --- you just have to use it wisely and keep each design at 4x4. :-) I hope that someone will find this review helpful!

This is my first ever embroidery machine and I just love it! The manual is very helpful and easy to follow. I like the fact that I can use the pedal for sewing or just press a button. It has three speeds which I found very effective and have used all three. I am an advanced sewer and never thought I would get into embroidery, but with all the new designs and advancements I can't get enough. I have started a home based business as well as selling at craft fairs and I get many compliments on my work. Thank you Brother!

I absolutely love this machine. It is smooth and solid. It does everything well. I sew everyday and have not had one glitch. The manual is very helpful and well written. The embroidery attachment is very easy to operate. I have created so many beautiful pieces. Dresses, free motion quilting, purses, tote bags, wedding veil, embroidery etc... You will not regret purchasing this machine.

This machine works beautifully. It is very simple to use and it does more than I ever expected. I have not had any problems with the machine and I've had it since October 2012. Great machine for a great price.
