This machine was so easy to set up and use right out of the box. It is very hard to tell what the designs are by looking on the screen as the graphics are poor (embroidery). It was very easy to transfer new designs from the computer to the machine. Overall it is a good machine for the price. I am enjoying sewing with it.

I only rate it very good because I haven't yet learned to use the embroidery functions. Ease is threading is excellent. Noise level is very good. Looks good as well. I'm sure the more I use the machine the more I'll like it. However, the auto needle threading doesn't work. I took it to a sewing machine repair shop and they confirmed the auto needle threading function does not work. I'm 66 and wear glasses so that function was appealing to me and would have been great to have.

This machine is so simple to set up for embroidery or quilting or just regular sewing. I have always wanted a machine that would do all the things this machine will do, but could not afford one. This machine was super affordable and does all the special stitches that the high dollar one does.

The SE 400 was my 1st embroidery machine. It was alot of fun to learn on. But I wanted to do larger designs. There is a larger hoop you can buy and split a design but that is alot of work so I bought the Brothers PE770 and now have a larger hoop and I kept my 400 for small projects and use as my sewing machine. It sews great and much faster than my SInger did. It is a great little starter machine.

This is a great buy and for my sewing needs (quilting and basic sewing) perfect. It is a travel and at home sewing machine. This product allows my new interest in embroidery to expand and also allows me to have the special decorative stitches I occasionally use. Love the bobbin outage feature. Thanks for a great project at a great price.
