Brother SQ9050 100-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Alphabet Font

I bought this along with an embroidery machine. I make crazy quilts. I really like this machine. I bought the SQ9050 because it was $20 cheaper then the latest model but had all the same features. I also bought it online for a store pickup it was ready in two hours for me to pick up. Loved that. No lines at Walmart!

I just purchased this machine a few weeks ago, so I've only used it twice but so far I love it. It is much quieter than my previous Singer machine and has great features like variable speed control, on off switch, automatic needle placement, and automatic backstitch (on some stitches). I'll update my review when I have made more than just curtains and two minky blankets, but so far I'd say its well-worth the money.

This is actually the second unit I've purchased. No, we didn't have problems with the first one; there was no need to return it. We were so impressed with our first one that we purchased the second one as a Christmas gift for our granddaughters. When they came to visit us, they had such a ball sewing and making things that we knew it was the right gift for them. As for my personal use, I used my unit to sew vinyl covers for a cabinet that I always wanted to make. This included vinyl piping in the seam. The SQ9050 handled it with ease. Adjustments were easy and I purchased an extra foot to handle the binding. All around, a very nice, very trustworthy machine at a very reasonable price.

Other being a little difficult when adding the quilting feet, due to the small working space, this is a great machine. Several of my friends have made the same purchase and are also pleased with it. A great value for a great price.
