Burt's Bees Aloe and Buttermilk Body Lotion - 6 Ounce Bottle

I'm into Menopause and I have itchy, red, burning skin, and was hoping this would help. Well, I can say it does not make my skin any more red. It is soothing, and I just wish it was more on the moisture side. I still like it though, [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the only lotion I've found that can handle the dryness brought on by cold Ohio winters and still be nice to my super sensitive skin. I have eczema, and severe allergies. When it is cold its even more sensitive. I'm allergic to petroleum products, which are in most intense moisturizers. Burts Bees has found a way to get deep moisturizing that is friendly to the most sensitive skin! Home run!

I love the original lotions. I purchased one of the new formulas unaware the product had completely changed inside it's new packaging. I thought it was just new packaging since the older tubes used to get dried out in the cap. But no it's a completely different lotion. I purchase the Aloe and Buttermilk because I have sensitive skin and it has this wonderful candy scent to it. This new product has no scent. The little that is has smells chemically and definitely doesn't make my skin smell nice. Not only that but I found where the old product kept my skin moist and clear this product makes me break out. The density of the lotion is more like a hand cream and not a body lotion. I find myself using a lot more because it sits where ever I try to moisturize rather then soak into my skin and doesn't have the milky feel the old formula does. Not happy with this product at all and if this is new formula is sticking around I am going to be forced to find a new organic company since it's not working for me. I am sorry Burt's Bees. I have been a loyal customer for years and an advocate of your products but this new lotion is awful.

I love the old version of the aloe and buttermilk lotion. The new version is ok too but I really like the smell and feel of the old better. Will use the new version when the old runs out but it doesn't last nearly as long and is heavier on the skin..

The "old" version of this lotion was my daily moisturizer, so I decided to see what the "new and improved" version entailed. PROS - Having very dry and flaky skin, I do find the thicker consistency of the new lotion more moisturizing. I can see the disappointment people may experience with the new formula because it isn't as light or liquid; it does feel formulated for drier skin now. Really, it does come down to skin type and how much hydration an individual's skin needs. Having said that, I wouldn't recommend it to normal or oily skin types due to its viscosity. CONS - The smell is different and it does have a more plastic/chemical base to it. The fragrance added to it does mask that smell slightly more than the Fragrance Free one, which I also have. The ingredients in both are nearly identical otherwise.
