I definitely recommend thawing this turkey before trying to remove the packaging and netting (trust me!). I usually put this in the crock pot with the gravy packet, a little water and some extra seasonings for about 4-5 hours on low. It's so tender and tasty when we get home for dinner. It feeds my family with 3 younger children with a little bit left over.
Sometimes you just want a turkey dinner without all the fuss of roasting a full size turkey. Butterball All Natural Turkey Breast Roast comes to the rescue for all you turkey with gravy fans out there. Butterball makes the process simple so you can have turkey dinner whenever you have a couple of hours to let the roast cook. There are instructions for cooking it thawed and there are freezer to oven instructions. There's even a gravy packet included. Easy peasy, and it tastes great, too. Winner winner TURKEY dinner.
I purchased a 3 lb turkey breast this should have been 48 oz. what I received was 28 oz of usable meat before cooking. when I weighed the package before opening it it weighed 2.9 lb. when I removed the thick packaging, the cord netting that encased the meat, drained off the excessive water included, and trimmed off 1.7 Oz of unusable cartilage what I ended up with was 28 oz of usable meat.
We've purchased this Butterball Turkey Breast many times in the pass and thought it was very good. This time was different! I didn't use the gravy packet or any seasoning like I usually done in the past due to a dinner guest medical problem. I figured we could season it ourselves. It was too salty to eat! I love to season food here in New Orleans, but this was atrocious!
cooked this in the crockpot for the first time to avoid heating up the kitchen in this gawd awful heat. will prolly do that from now on. it's just so easy.: spray the crock with pam, add a couple of splases of low sodium chicken broth and a splash of red wine vinegar. my house seasoning is ground or cracked black pepper, garlic powder and sweet paprika. cook to at least 170 degrees internal temp; about 2 1/2 to three hours.
