The title re-defines WWII games by offering an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through all new cooperative gameplay.

Call of Duty: World at War, Activision, Xbox 360, [Physical], 84080 Call of Duty 4 Technology: Built using the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War utilizes a bedrock of technology that delivers jaw-dropping visuals, while empowering players to employ elements like fire to affect the dynamics of the battlefield. Players that attempt to harness the power of new weapons, like the flamethrower, will find themselves capable of burning away environmental elements that give cover to a camouflaged enemy, leaving a charred battlefield and their foes in their wake. Coordinated Assault and Support: For the first time in the franchise, Call of Duty: World at War introduces co-op, bringing fresh meaning to the "No One Fights Alone" mantra. Call of Duty: World at War co-op features up to four-players online, or two-player local split-screen, allowing gamers to experience harrowing single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution. The title also incorporates traditional multiplayer components such as challenges, rankings and online stats into the co-op campaign for deeper re-playability and advanced gameplay. New Theaters of Operation: Players fight as U.S. Marines and Russian soldiers facing enemies some new to the Call of Duty franchise that employ lethal new tactics and know no fear, no mercy, nor the rules of war. Epic conflicts are fought on multiple fronts, playing through the climactic battles of WWII in the grittiest, most chaotic and cinematically intense experience to date. Innovative Multiplayer: Multiplayer builds from the success of Call of Duty delivering a persistent online experience for more squad based interaction. New development with party systems allows an intimacy with squad based combat never before seen in Call of Duty. Combined infantry and vehicle missions add a new dimension to the online warfare and offers more Perk abilities. Cinematic Quality Graphics and Sound: Treyarch's award-winning sound department returns with effects that add to the already immersive cinematic intensity of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game engine. The campaign and multiplayer are both awsome. The thing that I like to play the most with my friends is the Zombie game play. This is truly a great game to own and play with friends or alone. Still this game has been out for about a year and the price has stayed the same. Not to mention another $30 worth of microsoft points (2400) for the 3 map packs, if you want them. I would consider waiting for a Game of the Year version to come out.

This game is leaned toward multiplayer. The campaign is HORRIBLE compared to other war games (especially Modern Warfare) and the only good thing about it, is the online Xbox Live gameplay. The thing that makes me mad the most, is that unlike the Halo series, you CANNOT play split screen multiplayer! You can't even play system link multiplayer! It's just one person on each screen! So stupid. I'm a tenth prestige on this game, and I suggest you don't buy it. Wait until Modern Warfare 2 comes out this November!

after playing all the call of duty's i would say CoD: WAW came out the best i still love CoD: 4 but theres something about world at war that just makes it 10 out of 10 CoD: 4 i still love with the story line but in world at war your more than one person throw the story and i love that! i would say that if your thinking about getting it go for it cause it is so worth it!!!

Ok i know Call of duty Modern warfare was good but i think the whole reason for going back to WW2 is because just to top things off i mean look at the other WW2 games they made they stunk and then look at this maybe they just made this to make the last WW2 game in the series its actually a good game espically zombieS!

I had to have this game because of all the hype in these reviews I was a little disapointed. The graphics in this game are top notch, the best Ive seen, its based off world war II so you dont get any of the newer high tech gadgets and its pretty much just a shootem up bang bang game. Its pretty fun though I did notice a few glitches like characters getting stuck and just moving back and forth. Its not a very difficult game the only problem I had during gameplay was the darn grenades I was always getting blown up by them if I died 50 times 48 times were because of grenades. My only other complaint is that I paid $60 for this game Friday evening and had beaten it by Saturday evening so it was kinda short. I recommend renting it.
