Calphalon Katana Cutlery Knife Set, 18 Piece

These knives are beautiful, so pretty that I had them for a good 6 months before I actually used one because I didn't want to get them dirty LOL. This set has everything you'd ever need, all the blades were super sharp out of the box... however, the blades of the prep knives began chipping after the first use. After using them only a handful of times the blades had multiple chips in them. I have always hand washed them & dried immediately & don't allow anyone else to use this knife set (I still have a full Henkels set for anyone who comes over & may be helping me prepare food LOL). I'm hoping the set I got was somehow a lemon & the replacements will not be defective in this way because I really love the set. Have already filed a warranty claim so we shall see how the next set fairs. If they are great I'll report back!

I bought these and had problems right away. They are all chipped which started the first time I used them and one appears to be cracked.

Purchased a few years ago. Never run through the dishwasher, or left soaking in the sink. Most of the knives are not straight, some angling a few degrees from the handle. Very unevenly ground. Some began pitting after a few months of use. The metal is very soft, and bends easily, and not in a good springy sort of way, but of a more malleable nature. Some of the knives with a thinner tang have the handle separating because they are that pliable. Wish I had saved some money and went with a cheaper higher quality set instead of the cool looking ones. Love most of my other Calphalon products, but these are a flop.

I love the knives, I haven't even used them yet, I got the set today!!!

I have had mine for a few years now, I love it, they hardly ever need to be sharpened, I would never use anything else!
