CamelBak BFM 500 Denier Hydration System

Only been using the bag a few days now. Was planning to use it for some kind of survival/preparedness bag. Instead it's become my every day bag, as I carry lots of stuff. Didn't think the top little side pockets would be very useful. Keeping my head lamp and light in one and USB wires and chargers in the other. The large side pockets holds a quart water bottle easily. The interior straps do a great job of keeping my rain coat and sweat shirt folded up and in place. Plenty of room for all my other stuff. Only complaint so far is too many zippers and zipper pulls. Think I'm opening one part when actually unzipping another. Need to mark them some how. The frame sheet is comfortable. Had read some negative reviews about the quality compared to older CamelBak bags. This pack compares well to my decade old HAWG.

I bought this bag a couple of weeks ago and use it for day hiking / overnight hiking. It almost sits like my rucksack for the army and feels almost glued to your body. It has the support I need from a pack, good straps, and the thermal bladder helps regulate your water temperature. I gave 4 stars because I would like to some some more main compartment organization.

This pack has all the features I needed for my adventures. The pack is sensibly designed to access the main compartment easily from more than one access point. There are four zippers so the main compartment can be accessed from a lower spot without diffing through the entire pack. There are enough pockets with different sizes for all of my gear and the “camel” part makes it all very convenient. Only one draw is that it is a bit heavy.. but not bad enough to reduce my rating. I did add some colored zipper pulls to be able to find them quicker.. as the ones that came with it are black and blend in with the pack itself. I love that the main compartment can also open fully. It gives you options for gear placement and full access but then you can open the zippered area to grab just what you need. Overall.. I LOVE IT!!

Still can't believe that I was able to get this for so cheap!! Taking this to Europe on top of a carryon, but this will be my 2-3day bag while on foot.. easily carries two 32oz bottles in both little pockets on the sides.. took the bladder out for the time being but will probably use it more this summer

I love the BFM!!! It's a great addition to my camelbak collection. I've been a camelbak customer since it first came out during my Army days way back when. The BFM is a testament to the growth of this company. I will continue being a loyal camelbak customer for years to come cannot wait to see what they have in store for the future.
