Guess I received a bad batch of beans. I purchased two bags which were pricey, however that would be fine if they'd been edible. After cooking for many hours they finally softened. These beans were extremely bitter, like poison. My family loves lima beans so I wanted to try these large dried ones. Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake. I wish I had never tried these Camilla Dried Lima Beans. Never again.

Black eyed peas and Lima beans are NOTHING alike for a substitute. Especially for a New Yeats day tradition. Lima beans???? Even cans of black eyed peas would have made more sense. I've also had them substitute cilantro with parsley one time. That would NEVER work in a recipe.
