Triton 5L Portable Water Heater

This is a replacement at our camp site for another similar make (by a different company) that wore out after 15 years of use. We find this one operates much better than the older one. We do suggest that you buy an inexpensive gas gauge for the propane tank so you don't run out of gas in the middle of a shower.

We have two (2) of these for our summer rentals and they have been working great for two summers. Plenty of heating power for 55F water coming from our well. Important to change the batteries every year. We also have the 10L love it (though it uses batteries faster and heats more than we need for summer guests, so it is our backup).

I should have listened to some to the posted reviews. But, there were some good reviews as well. Rolled the Dice.. LOST! The Worst part is I had to go buy a bunch of fittings to plumb the water. And waste my time for hours. I Followed all directions. Turned it on...It lit and hot water flowed. YES!! .for about 30 seconds. Then it quit. It was hooked to a pump, so it had a good water pressure. Trouble shooting said look at the igniters, did that, bent them a little as directions read. Centered the thermo couple as indicated. It fired up...heated about 30 seconds and quit. The water was smoking hot, i tried to adjust the control, seemed the same at any position. Once again it quit. Wont fire back up..boxed it up...ALL DONE with JUNK!!! A New item should work without the consumer wrenching on it. At least for a while. It had plenty of water, new batteries, plenty of air space, new tank of gas. Should work Extremely Aggravated with the thing. Anybody want to roll the dice and order one...? Good Luck..:)

I have had this same model in my fish house that I sometimes use for hunting and never had any issues. I bought the Amazon Gasland version to set up in the bathroom of my 5th wheel and had nothing but issues and recently replaced it with the Triton and is working flawlessly.

On Windy days the wind blows out the pilot and cuts off the flame which makes cold water come out.
