This is a great value. For the price, you just can't beat it. The printer works great with Win XP home using the software CD and google's pacasa2 software. I can scan right from within pacasa. There is no fax on this "all in one" printer, but that's okay. The color sanner and printer work just fine. The LCD is a nice touch and allows you to print right from the memory card. Also, when connected to the PC, the card reader in the printer also also allows you to copy photos to the PC, so no extra card reader is necessary. As for the camera, the image quality is great and it has more features then a beginner would ever need. I purchased this for my friend, but as a professional photographer and computer guy, I would say that the only down side to this product is the build quality. The printer feels like cheap plastic and is not solid feeling. The camera feels better, and is really not bad for the price, but I'm used to the professional metal body cameras. I have a canon 870 IS and its got the same processor in the camera, same features and same image quality for $300 but the difference is that the body of the 870 camera feels heavy, strong and solid. I've already dropped the 870 on a cement ground from my pocket with no case, and it still works (just a minor scratch that you can hardly see). I'm not sure if the A570 (the one that comes with this printer) would have survived the same fall. So that's what the main difference is for the price. As for final quality of prints and photos, they are very good, and as good as a $300 camera and $150 ink jet printer.
The printer/scanner/copier is great; prints good pictures, too. The camera is good and has alot of great features. I am having trouble finding a replacement for the button battery (the one in the camera does not last long at all) and since it saves your setting preferences, I have to reset everything every time I use it until I find a replacement. The battery compartment can be hard to open and close sometimes, which is annoying since the memory stick is in there, too. Aside from these things I am very happy with both items.
I bought the camera as a Mother's Day gift for my Mom and she loves it she can not stop taking pictures of the family and her pets the pitures come out crisp and clear when you print them out they look as they were printed at a photo store. The printer is great feature as well as well as the scanner option it has. So yes I if you are planning to get someone a gift this is the one to get for a beginner or expert...
I love the camera and the photo printer as I love taking photos and printing them out for my friends to see. This is a good combo for anyone wanting quality and good value for the money. Would have been nicer if the usb cable had come with the printer, but all in all it's a great deal. I'm very satisfied with mine.
I love this product. It is nice to print off pictures and the camera takes awesome photos. I love the printer for the fact that when I want to print off just a few and send some out...I don't have to go to walmart. I can do them at home and the quality is the same.
