Captain Morgan Private Stock Rum, 750 mL, 40% ABV

I was a Capt Morgan fan for several years before switching to the Kraken Black Spiced Rum. I was at a corporate event for the guitar industry (open bar). I was a bit disappointed when they didn't have The Kraken but the did have Captain Morgan Private Stock. This I had never tried before so I took a chance, asked the bartender to add just a splash of Coke. I returned to our table and took a sip. This isn't your usual rum. It sported a rich aroma and flavor that took me by surprise. It was smooth with a warm comforting finish. A splashed mine with Coke, I think next time will be straight up on the rocks.I don't think it needs anything Edison at all.

This is the only rum I will purchase on a regular basis. I like the glass bottle and lid. It fits nicely in the freezer without taking up too much space. Since it's a shoe bottle it's easier to fit in the freezer. It makes the best rum and Cokes for a quick drink at home.

if you are a captin lover you might not like this as i did. its has a robust ritch sweet taste. it is a dark rum. was good on the rox wasn't so good mixed with coke or other chasers. but if you are looking to show off the bottle is cool but the taste could use some improvement. 

I love Capt Morgan! I find this particular kind to be smooth. I love when a rum can stand alone on its own and when it's great mixed in soda. This one does great both ways. I find this one tastes better than other brands of the same class. The spice is perfect. If you want a good rum cake, I highly suggest trying this rum!

This is my favorite Captain Morgan! Private Stock is a little oak-y, with hints of vanilla and caramel. It's best with a Coca-Cola Classic and maybe a little squeeze of lime. I make Vanilla Bean Private Stock Cheesecake and Rum cakes with Private Stock, also.
