The Carnivorous dome, is a great gift for younger school age children 2nd grade and up, in my opinion. The grand children love it and are excited to watch things grow.

Growing carnivorous plants from seed is difficult at best so unless you are experienced with these plants I would not recommend it since most will be disappointed with the results. It requires the proper light, moisture and warmth and even if you are successful it's going to take quite a while before you see results. I would highly recommend buying the excellent book "The Savage Garden" (available through Walmart and bookstores) if you want learn about these fascinating plants and how to care for them.

Expiration date on box was November 2017 and noticed this as I was wrapping it Christmas Eve. Bought it just a week before so I wasn't happy. Gave it as gift and hope it grows!!!
