The product was as expected and installed easily. That said, due to how it installs (in the pinch weld), I don't feel like it could support the weight of even an average person. If you are installing these for the look, go for it. If you truly need them to help get in and out of your vehicle, I'd recommend something a bit sturdier.
Unfortionaly, it does not help in getting into my truck. It is wonderful in getting out of truck. You need to be a strong young man to be able to manipulate your legs in getting into the truck. I am a senior citizen handicapped woman who needs a cane to avoid falling. Buying this item without trying it out, is like buying a dress that you have not tried on.
The two problems I had with these steps were installation and how far they stick out from my truck. I paid someone to install them because I can't drill holes at sharp angles without slipping. I also wish they stuck out from underneath the truck more. Another 6" would make them ideal. My shin rubs against the truck body while getting in. For this reason, I can't recommend these steps.
I am very pleased with the new side steps. Frankly, I'm getting too old to crawl under any of my vehicles and, mount accessories, such as side steps anymore, so I took my truck to a local shop and, they installed them within a half hour. They are solid, attractive, steps. The only drawback that I can think of is that after about half a dozen trips through the automatic car wash, the brightness of the steps, has faded slightly, but, they still look very, very, good, and, shiny! I opted for only one pair of side steps, for just the two front door's access into the Crew Cab, 4x4 pickup, that I will be using primarily only for taking to the woods, for Deer Hunting, and, I do not plan on carrying more that only one passenger. The two rear doors obviously provide me with the easy access, into the back of the cab for loading up my hunting equipment; rifle, ammo, and, miscellaneous hunting accessories. Oh yes! Before I forget, the side steps are a whole lot cheaper than Nerf bars, that can be somewhat cumbersome, and, potentially "hang up," or, make contact with objects, back in the woods, on some of those "rough, off-road," trails, that I must frequently travel over, when hunting.
These were way more difficult to install than in the instructions. The F250 does not have the bolt holes underneath to support this add-on and holes must be drilled. The time to install this product was more like 2 hours for the 1st one. the others went on easier but required drill bits and other tools no shown in the instructions.
