This is a great keyboard. Perfect for beginners and sounds great. I don't have any complaints and would definitely recommend it. Seems sturdy and I believe it will last with care
Our oldest son has never played piano in his life, but since receiving the Casio Casiotone 61-Key Portable Keyboard (LK-S250), his interest and love for music has grown SO much! It has so many different pre-sets and sound mixers. He can literally just play a song by ear, I have never seen anything like it! The first thing he does when he wakes up is grab the keyboard and play some music. I couldn't be happier with the quality and the features.
The only thing I would change about this keyboard by Casio, is the lack of a carrying case or bag. The keyboard has a built-in handle for easy carrying, and is easy to use. Adjusting the volume is easy, and the lights help with learning new pieces. The keyboard is a decent size, but small enough to fit in small spaces. It's fun to use too. I definitely recommend this keyboard
This Casio Casiotone 61-key portable keyboard is amazing. It has a built-in song and a voice-guided Step-Up Lesson system with light-up keys. It has hundreds of great-sounding tones and rhythms. It is so much fun to play with and easy to use. For all ages from children to adults.
Plenty of keyboards utilize things such as lights, tempo direction, and note indication to help teach you how to play songs, but the Casio Casiotone just does it all a little bit better. First off, the lighting system on this is so nice. Compared to many others that use lights along the top of the keyboard, this one utilizes lights embedded within the keys, making it much easier to follow along without having to stare directly at it. They are nice and bright and use different sequences of flashing to indicate if a key requires multiple taps or a sustain. The song choices for training are all of the traditional songs that you would think of, such as the Fur Elise, Canon, Green Sleeves, holiday songs like Jingle Bells and White Christmas, and a selection of random songs. You can download additional songs via USB, as well as utilize this keyboard's midi controls. There are 400 included sounds, which if you've ever used a Casio keyboard before you'll be very familiar with them. The rhythm and song pack is quite fun, including 4 different sequences for each so you can mix and match them on the fly. I joked with my son that you could DJ a kid's birthday party with this no problem. Battery life is great as well. In the 5 weeks that I've had it the AA batteries it runs off of are still showing fully charged. It does come with a wall adapter, which works just fine. It's also constructed nicely and doesn't give off it's rather budget pricing. There are just a couple of things that could be improved. The speakers are just "okay". Certainly okay enough for practicing and messing around, but any serious playing would have to be ran to an outside PA or speakers. That leads to my next issue, and that's the audio output. I am a little confused as to why they used a full-size phono for the mic input (it also features a pedal input) but went with a 3.5mm for the audio out. I would have much preferred a full size and then just used an adapter if I needed a 3.5mm connection. Those are just minor gripes though, overall this is a great keyboard for the aspiring learner as well as someone wanting a fun side keyboard to mess about with some synth on.
