Casio FX-300ES Plus Scientific Calculator Natural Textbook Display, Black

When I needed to buy a scientific calculator for my middle school age son, I did a lot of research. The Casio fx-300ES PLUS was hands down the best when it came to price and functionality. It has many of the features of a graphing calculator except for graphing. The large screen is easy to read. Negative numbers can be represented using the negation key or the subtraction key. You do not have to worry about a special syntax. The large natural textbook display makes it easy to work with fractions. Answers to fractional calculations are easy to confirm as a decimal with one key stroke. Repeating decimals can be represented and used in calculations. The calculation history allows you to scroll back through previous answers if you forgot to write them down. It is easy to store and recall values for variables. It is easy to edit expressions using the [DEL] and [INS] keys. The TABLE Mode is helpful feature because you do not have to do repeated calculations. My son used it in middle school and uses it now in high school. It serves him well when his math teacher does not allow graphing calculators on assessments. Speaking of assessments, the fx-300 ES PLUS can be used on all standardized tests.

I love this calculator for my middle school students, it is easy to use, and the fraction buttons are great. I love how it can create a table from any equation. The fx-300ES Plus is very affordable.

My rating 4 is for one reason that this calculator should keep the most recent calculating history available to review regardless if the power turns off by auto or manual.

My son is in 11th grade in high school and the calculator is very good for his needs.

Great calculator for the money. Works for everything I need in college.
