I bought and installed this door, and ended up disabling the magnet because it wouldn't let the poor cats back in after they went out. The collar magnet has to be in exactly the right position for the door to open. The cats sat there and pawed at it and couldn't get in.
We needed a cat door that would not allow other animals to get in. We had some raccoon problems and now with the magnetic door it seems our problem is solved. Our cat didn't like the collar and magnet but now is fine.
I have had 2 stray cats and a racoon get through the door by pulling it open.
