I really liked my new "toy". My only complaint would be that the blade does not always cut the letters perfectly. Sometimes the paper "scrunches" up at the corners and the letters get ruined. I bought this machine because I am in college and I will soon be in a classroom soon and it will be very helpful in many ways. I used this machine for the first time to make large signs for a fundraiser that I do and I was pleased with the results. It's very easy to learn and fun to use.

My husband bought me the CRICUT Expressions for Christmas and I love it! I have no problems and no complaints. Carts are a little pricey, but if you shop around you can catch them on sale. I love working with vinyl! It's great and it's what I use it for the most.

I bought this at Walmart last Christmas for my mother who sends lots of greeting cards. I paid $199.99 and it came with two cartridges. It's the best price I've ever found. I am heavily invested in cartridges, tools, papers, not to mention 12X12 cutting mats!! I love the Cricut and use it more than my mum so I'm basically cutting and she's pasting. Endless possibilities. Least favorite thing is the mat. Wish the price would be lower for as often as we need to replace them. Just read a review about someone using a spray adhesive meant for quilting. I'll try that sometime. I did clean all the adhesive off a mat with acetone, washed it with soap and water. I put masking tape around the edges and sprayed a 3M temporary adhesive. I placed pieces of paper and removed it with ease. But overnight, the adhesived dried to permanent. I did not use it in the machine. Was just testing to make mats last longer. By the way, Provo Craft does not honor your warranty if any other adhesive is used should you have problems. Not that their adhesive is problem free. It has a tendency to get gunked up on the drop-down door, etc. I found a tip online and tried it. Use baby wipes on old used mats. Using elbow grease, scrub, scrub scrub away old debris until cleaned. Let air dry or wipe with a paper towel. The sticky was back and mat is reusable for a few more cuts. I've bought 17 2-packs of mats since Christmas. This cost more than the machine! My favorite cartridge is Life's a Beach. When the price is right, I'll buy a 2nd one and keep it at my house. Great item!

I got this thing thinking it was going to be fun and exciting and it is but there are some things I am not too happy about. 1st of all the overall start up costs are ridiculous. Instead of setting it at a reasonable fee or creating better bundles you are stuck buying the majority of the accessories separate, which adds up quickly. 2nd, I bought a few cartridges (the disney princess ones) to help me with pages from our vacation but they didn't even include any of the fonts or many words so it's basically the characters only which is a little frustrating. 3rd, I bought this last week and my mat is already needing to be changed because my papers are slipping around and messing up. I'm not sure why but I had a full 12X12 piece of paper on and tried to cut a 4" decorative piece it told me that it wouldn't fit onto the paper. At this point, I think that it's a neat concept but think they should be able to make it more affordable or better quality for the price. After all, we pay so much even to get started and already need to replace a major staple a few days later???
