I cannot believe that others want so much for this telescope. I jumped on this telescope because Walmart had such a great price compared to others on the net. Set up was extremely easy. The star finder was worthless. If you do manage to find something worth looking at the whole telescope is so shakey it makes tracking and viewing next to impossible. I suppose this might be worth the 78 bucks I paid if it were more stable and the star finder worked correctly. We could not get it aligned within range of the adjustment. I returned this product to the store and put the money towards a real telescope.

I purchased this telescope for my daughter who is a novice star gazer. I was surprised at the great quality for the price. I didn't want to spend a fortune since my daughter is new at this but I didn't have to! Solid construction, great view of the moon and stars.

Santa gave this telescope as a gift for my son's birthday. The size of the box was great and he was very excited. This is a well-built and quality product with the look and feel of higer end telescope. It is easy to assemble. Once you understand all of the features of the telescope, it is easy to find anything in the sky. The moon looks amazing and clear. Although a parent should assist in setting up and tuning, this is a great gift for a child 8+. I highly recommend this telescope to anyone thinking of getting one, but on a tighter budget. Very pleased, and Walmart was fast in getting it to me.

It's a little difficult to set up this telescope and you have to do some research on latitude and longitude, but it's worth it. (Go to Google Maps to get your latitude and longitude.) My children and I were very impressed with the quality of this telescope. Sometimes you get more than you pay for!

This scope is not normally this price, available online elsewhere for nearly double. For this reason, you get a very nice scope for the price, and makes a very good beginner scope. This is however not necessarily a beginners scope, as it has for the most part functionality and flexibility of any other pricier scope. Initially magnification is only x70, but with a barlow eyepiece alone you can achieve x140. Good buy.
