You cannot see stars through this, but you can see the moon when it's clearly visible in the sky. My 9 year old loves it.

havent opend its a christmas gift for grandaughter but have used this product before which is why i bought this one cause i know it works great

my husband got thisfor me for christmas & it just dont work , we have tried everything and still nothing. you cant see anything out of the lenses and we even tried to focuse in and still nothing.... SO DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME......................

This telescope has nice resolution for looking at celestial bodies in the sky. My teens like it for looking at star clusters and the moon comes up nice and close through this scope.
