Was advertised as suitable for spotting, watching animals, etc. As well as astronomy. We could not focus on objects from the horizon and closer. we could, however view some craters on our moon. this required more patience than the average youngster might have. The " fine tune " apparatus is too flimsy to easily use this telescope.

I bought another brand for my 6 year old grandson for Christmas, terrible quality, couldn't see anything. I took it back to the store and got a refund. I purchased this one through the Walmart website. Great price, quality, and he and his family just love it. Awesome customer service, it was delivered four days later on a Saturday. Very pleased with the whole procedure.

For the price this is a great Telescope for beginners. Very easy set up and light weight. I could even use an old eye piece from a Celestron scope I had as a kid. I ordered this product on Cyber Monday and it came 7 days earlier. Awesome all the way around.

Looked at Jupiter, Venus and Moon, telescope itself is very good but the tripod is very basic, shaly and wobbly, its very very tough to track any moving objects, entire scope vibrates a lot, with any strong wind or even while applying light pressure for viewing on the eyepiece, your target will drift away, it very tough to focus.
