Clairol Nice 'N Easy Permanent Hair Color, 5C/117D Medium Cool Brown

I think Clairol is on the right track for the blue black color, but not quite there. I loved how easy the product was to use and seriously, you can't beat their color seal conditioner. I'd buy the hair kit just for that conditioner! Unfortunately, the blue black that the app showed me and I fell in love with, I just didn't get that from the corresponding Clairol Nice & Easy kit. I ended up going to beauty supply store and having to re-dye my hair to get the color I fell in love with from using the app. Would the color have been different if I'd have bleached my hair first? Maybe. I will definitely use Clairol for touch ups because it's so easy to use and my hair feels amazing after. But for the color I've achieved now, I don't think I can achieve the all over look with what Clairol currently has available. At least not in my area of the world. I used Nice & Easy yesterday to recolor my hair, they have the awesome new APP that helps you decide on a color. I chose a couple colors, and then I actually allowed my husband to decide on the final decision in the store. We chose Natural medium caramel brown. I have been growing my hair out for almost a year, and haven't really used any permanant hair color on my hair during the grow out stage. I am now at the length I had goals for and knew right away I was ready to decide on a color after using the APP.. My hair is naturally medium blonde,so most hair color sticks to my hair pretty fast. My results with this hair color was a good one, not great but good. I applied the color to my hair, and waited the time allotted and sat down to watch some tv. Most hair colors burn your scalp or give you a itchy scalp, I found that with this brand , my scalp wasn't nearly as itchy and didn't burn as much as other brands. When my timer went off, I was excited to see my results.. I washed my hair and added the conditioner that is included in the bottle (Ya'll need to bottle that heaven and sell separately also) and then dried my hair.. Now the color wasn't exactly what was shown on the box, my hair turned up a bit lighter than the color shown, my hair seems to have more red in it than I started.. But none the less I love the turn out!!! I started with blonde shabby hair and ended up with soft, vibrant colored hair.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had blonde highlights before I used this. You can still see a lot of my highlights although that's not the products fault I just should have used a darker color. Other than that I like the conditioner that came with, it made my hair feel nice. I also like the fact that one box was enough for all of my hair. It's just as easy, of not easier than other dying products. My husband is the one who dyes my hair so the easier the better! I'm a natural blond, and have gotten tired of it, so I usually go for, and did go for black on this occasion just like always. It's not as stiff, if that makes sense, as when using other brands. I was really excited to try this hair dye. Over the years I have used many store hair dyes, so I was ready to attempt this one. Unfortunately I found that this dye was very drippy. It was hard for me to control where the dye was going and it dripped all over my bathroom. The color was not the color that was on the box, a nice medium golden brown. Granted my hair is naturally already dark, but most store dyes still lighten my hair. I still gave it three stars though, because in the natural sunlight the top looks slightly like the box if I look close enough. I would recommend buying 3 or 4 shaded lighter than what you actually want in order to lighten dark brown/black hair. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
