I had purchased a Conair straightener in the past but the one I had included a comb attached to it. It worked GREAT! I anticipated ordering the same exact one but found out that this flat iron didn't come with the comb feature. I will continue to look for the one I really need and give this one to my daughter. I was also dissapointed in how long it took for me to receive the product. I expected it much sooner. I had to use my broken one til this product arrived.
I had this flat iron for about two years...I used it somewhat frequently, but then the hinge started to get stuck while i was using it. About six months ago the on/off button just fell into the inside of the iron, and I couldn't fix it. Before falling apart, it was a great product. It really got rid of frizz and made my hair stay straight for a long time even in humidity (which is a feat in itself). So long story short, I it was worth the price. Oh and i agree with the previous post that said your hair gets stuck in it.
Purchased item for 2 reasons Dual voltage for traveling out of the country and the comb/brush feature. But, I received no comb/brush to attach to it. When using it my hair catches on the edge where the plate and the plastic come together causing hair breakage. I have used flatirons for 10 years so I know that your hair should be able to slide smoothly between the plates. Not to happy with the purchase.
I love this straightener - I have used it for years and it always gives me the style I want. I have very thick, curly hair and it always gives my hair body, shine, and the structure I want. My only complaint is that I've had to buy 2 already because after a years worth of use it burnt out, but for the quality and the price - I have no problem with the product. After the last one quit working I tried a GVP straightener that compared to a CHI - I have never been able to get the same results and paid at least 2x the amount. I love the auto shut off too!
The Flat iron did the job for the first few months, but went down hill from then. I have very thick hair and i guess i am hard on my flat irons, but this was just stupid! I bought it 5 months ago and just last Monday i was using it and where the handles are hooked together (I think) just snapped. It didn't break off completely, but when i use it on my hair it wont clamp on to my hair to flatten like it did before. Don't get me wrong, Conair is a good brand but i've found that their flat irons tend to break in some way after a few months. If you asked me if this was a good flat iron to buy, i'd tell you no. It's good for awhile but, turns terrible. It also make annoying squeaking noises when you use it, making it sound old. I'm definitely not going to replace it with this one, and i wont buy flat irons from Conair ever again. Their just bad flat irons...
