I shopped for a high performance tires to replace the original tires on my Camaro. I settled on the Continental Extreme Contact DW. I am very happy I chose the Continentals. They are great for high performance driving in the rain and shine of the moderate seasons. They have great input when driving close to the edge. I was impressed at the ride quality of this performance tire, absorbing rough rode conditions. With indicators to let me know when they are wearing and might be losing grip as they wear. A truly Top notch tire!
This is the second set for me, not a bad value, and not excellent. Good handling and road wear, especially in dry conditions. Also very quiet tires. Do not bite well on wet roads and often tires will break pavement and spin when accelerating from a stop on wet roads
I had these tires on my C4 Corvette and when I got a 2000 Boxster with Michelin Sport tires it was so loud my earsrwc rang after an hour driving so I put the Extreme Contact Continentals on and the noise level difference was obvious. I enjoy the Boxster much more now.
I own a 1994 Audi S4, 4 wheel traction is very important for the quattro system to be affective. During the wet seasons of the year these Extreme contact DW tires inspire amazing confidence, especially during "spirited " driving sessions. I have also noticed a very even wear on all 4 tires given there age of 8 months. They are Estheticly attractive too, great tread design for the performance oriented crowd.
After flying through a complete set of Pirelli P-Zeros on my Ecoboost Mustang (in 10k miles), I got these ExtremeContact DWs for dirt cheap! They were probably 75-100$ cheaper per corner than replacement P-Zeros or Pilots, with great reviews on TireRack. Much to my excitement they offered about 90-95% of the roadholding of my former P-Zeros, while maintaining a much higher longevity and much improved wet surface traction. After 10k miles, the Continentals were still going strong, with plenty of life remaining. Great tires!
