My husband can not manage his diabetes on his own -- he has dementia. If it wasn't for this meter, I would not know what glucose was. He would hide his readings. Since we got the Contour Next One, his glucose has gone from 332 to 150 and lower before meals. His A1c has gone from 9.1 to 6.8. This meter makes you life with diabetes so much easier. The meter does all of the hard work for you.
Pretty easy to use. I like that the case is small, but I'd like it to be better organized. I have the lancets in the zippered section, and they are hard to get out and the zipper would be better going the opposite direction. The tab gets stuck where it's hard to get my fingers in.
I got this meter about a month ago. It's really great, uses a tiny blood sample, uses a colored led feature paired with your result, green = good yellow= a bit high red= high. I thought that was neat. My favorite thing is how small the meter is, and how small of a sample it requires. I'd recommend it.
I like all the features. And the fact that it works with my cell phone makes it my easier to view readings. And the patterns are great to show to my Dr. Only thing made me give 4 stars. Battery went low and made readings less accurate. Had to replace meter after 6 months.
Accuracy appears to be good, easy to use compact size. But it's ability to Bluetooth pair with my iPad is sketchy at best. The iPad app doesn't cleanly transfer the data and the “reports” are not up to my and my doctor's expectations. Kinda like running Windoze 95 today. The Windoze program is marginally better in terms of reports but I have to plug the meter into my laptop. Soooo, starting later this month I will be moving over to a OneTouch Verio Flex since Aetna Medicare Advantage pays for all the supplies. A couple of trial runs with the meter and app finds them to be superior.
