I played with this a little bit on xmas morning and its cute, but it doesn't "light up" like it shows on the samples. I guess if you go into a really dark room it would, and as for to play with, the 7 year old it was given to lost interest in about 8 minutes. I don't think its worth the money they are asking for it either. Get a lite brite instead.
The commerical for this toy is great, but when you actually get it ready for the kids to play with it and show them how to use it... well, it was not that great. My sister-in law was pleased but I was disappointed that we had to buy more templates and it was not like the commerical. The kids liked the lights (glow in the dark), but a black light would do more.
My daughter received this as a gift for her 9th birthday. If your child loves to write and draw then this is the gift for them. My daughters favorite part is the markers do not come of easily so she is able to display her work until she's ready to erase it. Easy to clean...just erase markers from board w/damp clothe or baby wipe, wipe dry & continue w/the fun. Perfect gift for an artist in the family! I would not recommend this for young children that aren't able to clean the surface themselves or remove the back drawing board...younger children may loose interest in the "clean up" process.
We bought one of these last year for our oldest son. He loves it. We just purchased another one for our nephew for Christmas. It allows for use over and over and allows for creativity without limits. Excellent item for kids (and adults too - for those who like to be a kid).
My 10 year old daughter wanted this for Christmas. She has only played with it a couple of times. I don't think she thought it was as fun as it looked on t.v. She has said that it is hard to erase once you draw on the screen. I haven't read any instructions for the product so I'm not sure if you're supposed to use water or some sort of solution to erase your drawings. I really thought that it was a neat product however not very fun.
