My patchiness went away within days and it really smells like a nice, subtle, old-skool barber shop product. It's definitely worth the money and Cremo Beard Creme is the only product that I use in my fledgling beard now. I'm guilty of using more than recommended but thats because I love the smell and although I forget it's in, I constantly reminded that its working.

Definitely does what it says it does. REAL TALK!! The smell is great I don't know how some people can't stand it, it smells like you just left a barbershop.
